I’m in Guayaquil, Ecuador visiting an old friend. One of the places she took us to was the stairway of Las Penas. We hiked exactly 444 steps to the top. It was worth every step though. This is the view at the top– absolutely stunning. I love all the colors. It’s true reflection of the vibrant culture in Guayaquil.
After hiking down the steps, we headed over to the El Malecon Boardwalk. There was a McDonald’s along the way, so we decided to stop there for a snack. We ordered the cheese empanadas since it’s not on the US menu. The empanadas were pretty good and definitely helped satisfy our taste buds.
